2017/18 Cinderella

8th Dec 2017 - 2nd Jan 2018

Sasha is appearing in Cinderella in dual roles, as dashing and suave Principal Boy Dandini, the Prince's right-hand man, and Fairy Godmother. Blackfriars Theatre, Boston. Tony Peers Productions.

Sasha is delighted to return to Blackfriars Theatre, where she previously played Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk in 2015/16. Last year Sasha played Dick in Dick Whittington at Parkview Theatre 2016/17 for Tony Peers Productions.

Cinderella, Blackfriars Theatre We are delighted to announce this year’s Pantomime will be CINDERELLA and starring in the show will be Mark Two, one of Britain’s finest Dames as Ravishing Rita and as Buttons the very funny 'Rollo' an all-round comedy entertainer. Returning to us as Prince Charming is Rebecca who played Robin Hood in last years pantomime.

The story of a poor girl who lives with her impoverished father Baron Hardup and her wicked stepsisters Ravishing Rita and Wicked Wanda. Prince Charming after a chance meeting with Cinderella falls in love. A ball is held to which all the eligible girls in the Kingdom are invited including Cinderella and her ugly sisters, jealous of Cinderella the sisters steal her ticket and destroy it before her very eyes.

Loveable Buttons, who secretly loves Cinderella himself tries to cheer up our heroine all to no avail. At this stage Cinderella is left crying in the kitchen when her Fairy Godmother arrives and magically spirits Cinderella to the ball in a crystal carriage. At the ball, she meets the Prince but has to flee the ball when the clock strikes 12 midnight, leaving behind her silver slipper. The Prince begins a search to find the foot that fits the slipper. Why not join us to find out how he finds Cinderella despite the antics of Ravishing Rita and Wicked Wanda.

'The Neptune Lounge features lavishly-costumed revues of West End musical favourites, as well as guest stars from the small screen and big stage. On my cruise the ‘Ministry of Rock’ production by the Balmoral Show Company was little short of ground-breaking for this cruise line. This show was edgy and the singers and dancers gave competent performances of great rock anthems. Special ‘Theme Nights’ – such as British Night; 60’s and 70’s Night; and Tropical Night bring their own magic – none more so than the Crew Show.' Gary Buchanan Cruise 118.com

'The entertainment was good. The Balmoral show Company were excellent and they worked hard throughout the cruise. We had a singer called Jon Moses, he had a beautiful voice. We had a comedian/magician Martin Daniels (son of the late Paul Daniels). 'The evening entertainment was excellent. This cruise saw the arrival of a new showteam who were superb and performed some fantastic shows, it was hard to believe that they had only just joined the ship and were in their set up period. The Neptune lounge and the Morning Light pub benefited from a new sound system.' Fred Olsen Website, Review: May 25th

'The entertainment and Activities provided on board was phenomenal. Fantastic staff and incredible shows every night to end the day on a good note. The Balmoral Show Company, who were new to the cruise were amazing and had incredible voices. Barnaby (the ship comedian) was very funny and Matt Cairnes (another vocalist) was fab too. 4th Dimension, who played in the Lido Lounge every night, were great and always got the crowd up dancing of an evening.' 2015/2016 Jack & The Beanstalk Christmas & New Year Pantomime

Jack and the Beanstalk Raises Thousands for Charity

Monday 25th January

'We are excited to confirm that the cast of the Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime which ran throughout December at Blackfriars Theatre have raised £2328.32 for the Pilgrim Hospital's Children's Ward.

Throughout the Pantomime season the cast members of Jack and the Beanstalk took it upon themselves to run down to the foyer after every performance with collection buckets and ask the audience to make a donation for Boston Pilgrim Hospital's Children's Ward and they have raised a whopping £2328.32 - almost double the amount that was raised last year during the season of Dick Whittington.  Silly Billy and the rest of the cast along with David Grant from Blackfriars presented the amount to the ward sister Margaret Goodley on stage at the end of the season.

Thank you to everyone that attended the Pantomime and all those that donated, we hope you enjoyed the show and we look forward to seeing you again next year for Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood!'

2015/2016 Jack & The Beanstalk Christmas & New Year Pantomime

Dec-Jan

Sasha is Lead Actor/Singer as Principal Boy Jack in Jack And The Beanstalk Pantomime Blackfriars Theatre Boston. Tony Peers Productions. Rehearsals: 4th Dec - 10th Dec, Tech Rehearsal 9th Dec, Dress Rehearsal 10th Dec, Blackfriars Theatre Boston. PA to Tony Peers: Elaine Hulme, Tech Services: Personna Entertainments,. Costumes: Janet Taylor, Choreographer: Abi Kingsley-Parker, Director: Alan Rothwell.

Pantomime is back with a bang this year at the Blackfriars Theatre in the form of JACK AND THE BEANSTALK.

This traditional panto is a mix of myrth, mayhem and misunderstanding as Jack triumphs over the evil Giant Blunderbore.  With full supporting cast, glittering costumes and not forgetting the wonderful BOSTON BABES,
this promises to be an unmissable treat for all the family.

One of the best loved pantomimes, it tells the story of Jack and his mother Dame Trott and their battle with the evil Giant Blunderbore. Fleshcreep, the Giants Henchman forces Dame Trott to sell Daisy the Cow to raise money for rent. Jack takes Daisy to market, however, on the way Jack exchanges Daisy for a handful of beans which turn out to be magic. There follows a series of adventures as Jack climbs the beanstalk to cloudland to rescue Jill from the Giants clutches, needless to say Jack overcomes Blunderbore and saves the day.

Jack and the Beanstalk raises the roof!

Wednesday 30th December

Blackfriars Theatre's Annual Pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk has been a hit with packed houses of young and old.

After a fantastic season last year with Dick Whittington the Tony Peers Production Team are back with the classic story - Jack and the Beanstalk. Their return to Boston brings with it the ever popular Mike Carnell (Idle Jack) this time playing, you guessed it, Silly Billy. Oh no he isn't we here you shout, Oh yes he is and the children love him. Even the Mums and Dads are won over by his boyish charm and endless energy, one audience member said "He's such a Cheeky Chappy but he gets away with it" which is exactly how it should be.  King Ethelred played by Glenn Ford is your typical bumbling fool and Dame Trott, Silly Billy and Jack's Mum is brought to life by the talented Ian Moore, whose larger than life character interacts with the audience in true Dame style - never a dull moment when these two are on stage!!!

The show moves effortlessly through the story of good and bad with extremely well chosen songs performed superbly by the brilliant cast including Sasha Jacques as Jack and Katie Rodway as Jill his girlfriend and assisted by the hard working backstage crew.  All supported by this years 'Boston Babes' who dance their way through the show with wonderful choreography by our own Abi Kingsley-Parker. As with all true panto there is a baddy and Guy Mott as Fleshcreep causes the audience to raise the roof with their Boo's whilst the beautiful fairy, Rebecca Fenwick, promises good will prevail and produces her 'very special wand'.... we won't spoil it for you.  This traditional panto is a mix of myrth, mayhem and misunderstanding as Jack triumphs over the evil Giant Blunderbore. So come along and Boo or Cheer the Good the Bad and the Ugly.

As they did last year, the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk have decided to continue their support for the Pilgrim Hospital's Children's ward and are taking a collection for this worthy cause after each performance. During their time off between performances the lead characters jumped into a Taxi courtesy of Star Taxi's and headed down to the Children's Ward to surprise the children. They bounced around the ward for an hour or so bringing smiles to the children's faces before heading back to the Theatre to prepare for the evening performance.

The season runs through until the 3rd of January so make sure you don't miss out on this hilariously funny show, suitable for children and adults, everyone loves a Pantomime.

'
The Thomson Group has its own showcase group who travel, and they were absolutely fantastic. One night they did an act called One Fine Day...60's/70's show tunes with acting in between, then another night they did The Decades act...they were absolutely amazing! I would have paid good money to watch them, and they were definitely my favourite act.'

2011 The Wind In The Willows Musical UK Tour

12th Sep 2010 - Feb

Sasha performs as Moley and other characters in a Musical performance of Wind in the Willows. Image Musical Theatre Company

Cast: Toad  Demitri Lampra, Moley Sasha Jacques, Ratty Stephen

This vibrant musical production has all of Kenneth Graham's Tales of the River Bank, the Open Road, the Wild Wood, the exuberant Mr Toad and Mole, Ratty and Badger. Beautifully written, played and produced, this show in Image Musical Theatre’s immensely popular format, gives the opportunity for everyone to take part. Some children play the rabbits, the ducks and the thieving weasels while the whole audience learns the chorus of four songs.

The production is aimed specifically at children aged 5 and above, and will feature a large amount of audience participation - giving children the chance to get involved!

The Image Musical Company specialises in the adaptation of classics for schools, here they tell Kenneth Grahame's classic tale of English animals by the river bank, and the adventures shared by Ratty, Mole, Badger and friends.

During a half hour rehearsal workshop, children are picked from the audience to take part in the theatre production taking parts as rabbits, ducks and weasels. The rest of the audience are taught songs whilst the children rehearse - then in an interval everyone is costumed ready for the play!

'We Were Toad-ally Entertained! The Prep School welcomed the Image Musical Theatre to school yesterday when they performed the ever popular children’s classic, Wind in the Willows. With a number of children chosen to help out, we managed to recreate the story in an hour long show. Those who were not actually on stage all learnt the words and actions to four songs and were a vital part of the performance, singing their hearts out when called upon.

With this week’s theme being ‘working together’, we were amazed at how Dimitri, Stephen and Sasha managed to work together so effectively to bring the play to life. The set, costumes and presentation were fantastic and the children and staff were thoroughly entertained throughout the afternoon, especially with the antics of a larger than life Toad!' Robin Hood Panto
Showreel

Review

'A new musical about Robin Hood. Where better to première it than at the Marks Hall Arboretum deep in the heart of the Essex countryside? Cambridge Touring Theatre are back on form with this musical romp which held the interest of both children and adults with its mixture of comedy, audience participation, brisk dialogue exchanges and enough sharpness in Barry Evanslyrics to earn grown-up chuckles at some of the allusions. Elizabeth Glass’ costumes are eye-catching with the bright colours and exaggerated shapes one associates with medieval illustration.

It’s axiomatic for this kind of play that the baddies attract more audience reaction than the good characters. So Robert Paice as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Cheryl Felgate as an extremely secular Abbess almost steal the show from Damian Robinson’s carrot-haired Robin and Sasha Jacques’ feisty Marian. Villains require henchmen, of course, and here they are Rodney Tosh (the tall one, doubling King Richard and a not-so-Little John) and Simon Balcon (the short one with a nice line in juggling and visual comedy who also plays Friar Tuck, once an inn-owner – but those premises are now occupied by a certain well-known coffee bar chain…).

The catchy tunes are by Simon Humphreys and provide a charming duet for Robin ans Marian as well as ensemble numbers. There’s one slightly over-long exposition of the plot’s background which could be trimmed back with advantage but otherwise Evans keeps the story fast-moving with its blend of the familiar and the off-kilter. I particularly liked the archery contest with the arrows in flight being passed from one cast member to another before landing dead on target and right in the middle of the bull’s-eye.'

In the Victorian underworld of beggars, prostitutes and crooks, Macheath (‘Mack the Knife’) thrives on opportunism and sexual magnetism whilst leading his fear driven ensemble of dastardly thieves. Brecht’s caustic text and Weill’s distinctive, jazzy songs reveal a society where honour is fleeting and corruption thrives. The central characters are colourful, shallow and seedy, always on the look out to make a financial gain, regardless of whom they betray along the way. Our aim with our Brechtian productions is to show how V-Effect techniques can be applied to a performance.

On Tour for over 100 performances throughout the UK and Belgium, driving a bright yellow tour van, with many hours on the road, including driving to Belgium via Eurotunnel for  performances in February.

The Threepenny Opera

Review

‘The performance was simply outstanding! The best touring theatre performance I have ever seen. The actors were truly engaging and their energy captured my student’s attention and sparked their imagination. The performance left both students and staff buzzing. It has been the talk of the school’ Chaucer Business and Enterprise College
